Jets QB Zach Wilson to get MRI on injured knee

Injuries hit the Jets hard in Week 7.

Already down C.J. Mosley, the team also lost a number of linebackers. The worst injury, though, came to Zach Wilson. The rookie quarterback left in the second quarter with a knee injury after two big hits by the Patriots and didn’t return. While the extent of Wilson’s injury isn’t known, he did leave the field under his own power. He will have an MRI performed Monday, according to Robert Saleh.

Per the New York Post’s Brian Costello, the Jets believe Wilson suffered a PCL injury prior to testing.

“Initially we feel good,” Saleh said after the game. “But you never know.”

Wilson, for what it’s worth, said he’s not thinking about missing time.

Wilson finished the 54-13 loss with 51 yards on 6-10 passes before being replaced by backup Mike White. White threw for 202 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

“Anytime you miss reps, it’s not ideal,” Saleh added. “But I don’t think it’s going to be that big of a setback.”

The Jets lost a few more starters, as well. Linebacker Jamien Sherwood suffered a calf injury, while linebackers Quincy Williams and Blake Cashman were evaluated for concussions. Offensive lineman George Fant was also banged up in the game.
