As the atmospheric river storms down, the Bay Area is already seeing evidence of damage.
A scaffolding collapsed in San Francisco on Sunday morning after succumbing to the turbulent weather, prompting street closures.
The scaffolding fell just after 7 a.m. on Natoma and 9th St. in the South of Market neighborhood, scattering debris across the road. Officials have shut down the street between 8th and 9th St. and Natoma St. and are advising the public to avoid the area.
Video from the Citizen App shows the aftermath at the scene. No injuries were reported due to the collapse.
An evacuation order has been issued in San Francisco for the 21-76, 21-78, and 21-84 blocks of 9th Ave. The San Francisco Fire Department tweeted that a 100 foot tall tree is leaning with concerns it might fall. Three structures are currently threatened by the the tree.
San Mateo also experienced some damage on Sunday when a tree fell across Barroilhet Ave. near Burlingame onto a car.
