STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.— A 29-year-old man who allegedly punched an 11-year-old girl in the face at a Manhattan park was taken into custody Saturday by police.

Nathaniel DiRenzo, who lives in an East Village apartment building, faces charges of strangulation, acting in a manner injurious to a child, assault and harassment, police said, the Daily News reported.

The incident unfolded as a group of school children were throwing party snappers and dirt over a fence into a dog-run at Stuyvesant Square Park. DiRenzo allegedly was seen in a YouTube video, which now is private, yelling at the adult supervisor to get control of the children.

After the girl entered the dog run, according to the now-private video and the report, the man called her a “fat little b****.” Then the incident turned physical.

The defendant also exchanged blows with a 15-year-old male classmate who came to the girl’s aid, according to the report.

The girl was listed in stable condition at a nearby hospital while the boy was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
