Which New York Giants players could emerge as sneaky threats for the Carolina Panthers to contain during their Week 7 matchup?

The Carolina Panthers have plenty of pressure on their shoulders ahead of Week 7 at the New York Giants. This is down not only to the team’s concerning losing streak, but their opponents are severely depleted as a number of stars will be sitting out the contest through injury.

This makes a must-win game for the Panthers become even more so. If they cannot deliver despite being on the road, it’s going to come with some extreme criticism from analysts and fans alike.

Carolina also has some influential figures out such as Christian McCaffrey, Shaq Thompson, and long-term absentee Jaycee Horn. But there appears to be enough quality on the roster to get the job done against a 1-5 team that’s clearly going through some turmoil.

Carolina Panthers cannot take the NY Giants lightly.

Taking the Giants lightly would be an error. And as Donte Jackson stated this week, Carolina isn’t exactly in a position to be overlooking anyone at this juncture.

Here are four sneaky threats the Panthers must contain if they want to come away from MetLife Stadium with a much-needed win.

Oshane Ximines – LB

Although Oshane Ximines is nothing more than a rotational piece at this stage, the Panthers should still account for his whereabouts whenever the linebacker is on the field. The former third-round pick is a strong asset to call upon against the run, which is something Carolina wants to rely on heavily judging by Matt Rhule’s comments this week.

Ximines is never going to be an elite contributor at the second level. However, he does the little things well and his gap discipline has come on a significant amount during the player’s career.

Setting the tone with Chuba Hubbard and others is obviously a top priority for the Panthers. Ximines will look to squash this threat early and often.
