RSL had a game in hand on the teams in front of them in the Western Conference, but the loss keeps them below the playoff line, just one point behind the 7th place Vancouver Whitecaps.
Chicago opened the scoring just before the end of the first half when Robert Beric sent a right footed shot from the middle of the box that ended up finding its way past David Ochoa in the bottom right corner, putting the home side up 1-0 heading into halftime.
