Plane crashes into Ashland County residence, two killed

A man and woman from Marengo in the plane were declared dead at the scene.

A single-engine plane crashed into a residence in Marengo, Wisconsin on Saturday, killing two occupants of the aircraft.

Ashland County Sheriff's deputies and other emergency responders were called the area at approximately 2:40 p.m. A 29-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, both from Marengo, were declared dead at the scene by the county coroner's office.

No one other than the occupants were harmed and there is no further danger to the community. Names of the victims were withheld pending further investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board, the Federal Aviation Administration and local officials.
