SuperGirlKels scores clutch 2v1 comeback with a newly broken toe, later wins entire tournament with partner

The adaptability of fighting game players should never be sold short with constant distractions surrounding events with crowd noise, onlookers, constantly changing equipment and even physical injuries failing to hamper the competitive spirit.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate pro player SuperGirlKels scored an impressively clutch 2v1 comeback at a doubles tournament this weekend while also managing her newly broken toe — and she wasn't stopping there either.

In only their second match of the day, Kels found herself in a tough spot with her partner, Soar, KO'd in the first game with 74% damage on her Sonic while their opponents, Darth and Arsenic, had completely fresh stocks looking to close things out.

Using Sonic's mobility, speed and Spindash abilities, she would play a quick hit and run game to pick apart the King Dedede and Wii Fit Trainer team and even out the spread of damage.

Kels remained in constant danger of losing her last stock from one good hit, however, and barely manages to escape after getting buried by Wii Fit's jab combo.

Thinking they perhaps finally had her cornered, Darth and Arsenic would make a critical mistake with the penguin emperor plopping down right in front of Wii Fit's fully charged fireball in attempts to edgeguard the Sonic now at 120%.

Though down in the health department, Kels appeared in complete control once things became a 1v1 and manage to finish the job with a Smash at the ledge.

Remember, this is all after breaking her toe the day before and spending Friday at the hospital.

SuperGirlKels and Soar would take the set 2-0 and make it all the way to winner's final on that end of the bracket before getting sent to loser's by Smokk and Venom.

The pair would battle their way back to grand finals, reset the bracket in game five and take the whole tournament in a pretty convincing final 3-1.

They later shared a victory photo together with Kels standing on her new crutches.

A 2v1 comeback from that steep of a deficit is already an impressive feat, but doing so with a broken bone is pretty wild.

I have a hard time trying to concentrate on playing with a headache.

Also, it's impossible not to mention how wholesome Kels' mother is checking up on her daughter while she re-watching the replay above.
