WE'REDOUGH to open new location in Flint Township
A local business has gone from struggling to stay open to now expanding!
Owner of WE'REDOUGH Bakery, Jessica McGuire and her husband say they needed to attract more business during the pandemic. So, they turned to social media to attract more people in.
Their bakery has become a popular spot in Genesee County.
So much so... Owner Jessica McGuire says she is moving her company to a new location in Valley Plaza off Miller road. A spot that will be much bigger than their current location.
"The bakery wasn't paying for itself. So, we were facing having to shut it down because not enough people knew about us. So we posted about it on social media,” says McGuire. "It was just lines out the door. We had tons of people. It was huge.”
After business picked up, they realized they would need more space to keep up with demand.
"We don't have any more physical space for fridges and freezers and we also don't have any more capacity at our electrical panel, so we had to move because we are just bursting at the seams here."
McGuire and her husband say they are thankful for their customers.
"Knowing that the community is behind a small business is a lot. It helps a lot,” says McGuire.
McGuire tells me the new location is twice the size of their current bakery in Grand Blanc Township.
She says the move to Flint Township will allow them to expand their hours, hire new employees, and jump start some ideas they have put on the back burner, like baking classes.
For now, WEREDOUGH is remaining open in Grand Blanc Township until the move.
