Star Wars: Hayden Christensen is Returning as Darth Vader for Disney+'s Ahsoka Series

Hayden Christensen will not just be returning as Darth Vader for the Obi-Wan series. On Friday, news came out that the actor will reprise his iconic villain role for Disney+'s upcoming Ahsoka series. Christensen will star alongside series lead Rosario Dawson, and the series is currently being written by Lucasfilm director/producer Dave Filoni. Both Jon Favreau and Filoni will serve as executive producers for the show.

The news was reported by The Hollywood Reporter, which claims that Ahsoka will start filming in early 2022.

As most Star Wars fans know, Chistensen played Anakin Skywalker in the two Star Wars prequel films Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, showing how the character ultimately became Darth Vader. Fans were hyped when it was announced at Disney's investor day in December 2020 that Christensen was returning to the role for the live-action Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

Lucasfilm and Disney haven't revealed any plot details for Ahsoka yet. However, fans who watched The Clone Wars animated series would know that Ahsoka was revealed to be an apprentice of Darth Vader and the two last fought in Rebels. The show is expected to be set in the same general time frame as The Mandalorian. It's unclear if Hayden's character will return as Skywalker in flashbacks or Darth Vader, or both.

According to rumours that circulated earlier this year, Ahsoka (Dawson) would be on the hunt from Grand Admiral Thrawn in the Disney+ series. During the events of Rebels, both Ezra Bridger and Thrawn disappeared, and if rumours turn out to be true, it's likely that the show will feature live-action versions of these characters.
