Titans trying to keep Caleb Farley's spirits up after injury

Like every NFL player who goes through a serious injury, Tennessee Titans 2021 first-round pick and cornerback, Caleb Farley, was feeling down after tearing his ACL in Week 6.

But the Titans are doing their best to keep his spirits up, as head coach Mike Vrabel revealed earlier this week. He said he assured a “very emotional” Farley that the team would take care of him, both physically and mentally.

“He was very emotional (on Monday night). I told him that rest assured we were going to take care of him physically and mentally,” Vrabel said, via Jim Wyatt of Titans Online. “I think that is the biggest thing probably, is when you are dealing with some of these injuries is the mental approach that you take about willing to talk to people and be willing to let people help you that have either been there or that can help you through. It is going to be a long process and I am confident that he will be back better and strong, but it is unfortunate.”

Fellow corner, Janoris Jenkins, who lives close to Farley, said he has been by to visit the rookie cornerback to make sure he’s doing OK mentally.

“I’m like a big brother to him, so I’m just here to motivate him,” Jenkins said. “I go by his house every now and then because he lives like three doors down from me. So, you know, I check up on him, make sure his head is where it needs to be and just tell him, ‘worry about getting healthy, can’t worry about football at this point, just worry about yourself.'”

Titans 2021 third-round pick, Elijah Molden, is also providing support to his fellow rookie cornerback.

“I know he’s been through a lot of adversity in terms of injuries and whatnot,” Molden said. “I just told him, ‘if you need anything, I’m here for you. Anything at all.’ Just offering emotional support; whenever I see him, give him a hug and all that stuff.”

Of course, with his already troublesome injury history, including now a pair of torn ACLs, the sky might be falling in the eyes of some Titans fans in regards to Farley’s future, but it’s way too early to count him out yet.

Granted, Farley is dealing with a more serious injury, but lest we forget how down we were on Kristian Fulton before he broke out in his second season.

Here’s to hoping Farley follows the same path.
