EXCLUSIVE: Erin Holland told Daily Mail this week that SAS Australia was a 'life-changing experience' - and revealed what it was REALLY like on the military-style show

Reflecting on her time on SAS Australia, Erin said: 'It was truly, a life-changing experience for me.'

'I put myself so far out of my comfort zone, I'm no athlete… I train for my mental and physical health,' she said.

'What didn't go to air was how little sleep and how little food you're living off,' she began, explaining for one grueling challenge they were given 'half a banana each' to get by.

Erin explained the food recruits were given on the daily, saying a typical day on the plate would be a boiled egg and a cup of oats for breakfast, followed by a hand-sized amount of protein for lunch and a potato.

'Lunch one day was half a cup of soup and a bread roll. Like an airplane tiny bread roll,' she said.

She said that dinner was often the same type of thing as lunch, protein and a side.

Erin said recruits typically slept about four hours a night on the show.

She said the instructors, including Ant Middleton, are quite nice in real life, despite being tough on the show.

'Ant has moments of... he grabbed me at one point and gave me a pep talk. No one wants you to fail but they don't make it easy for you,' she said.

'They are really inspirational... I listened to their books as audio books while training, they're coming from a place of real knowledge.'

'A lot of things that make me feel super confident and comfortable in this industry was always putting my best, polished and prepared foot forward but in this situation, they strip you back and you bare it all,' she said.

'I was like, "I don't cry this much normally!" It's like therapy,' she said.

She also revealed her top advice for the next back of recruits, saying: 'Just keep going, embrace it. It's an incredibly humbling experience.'

Erin meanwhile, who is an actress, singer and presenter, is the host of the Tia Maria Two Of A Kind Podcast.

She has interviewed the likes of Amy Pejkovic, Jono Castano and Sharon Johal for the series.
