A $50,000 reward is being offered by the city of Berkeley for information about the fatal shooting of a pregnant mother.

Sereinat'e Henderson, 19, was shot around 7 p.m. near Malcolm X Elementary School on Oct. 21, 2020. She was found suffering from gunshot wounds in a vehicle on Prince St. between King and Harper streets and later died.

One year later, Berkeley police are reminding the public of a $50,000 reward offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of all involved in Henderson's death. "Even the smallest detail could be critical in solving this crime," police said Thursday.

The mother of one was two and a half months pregnant when she died.

"She was the joy of my life. She was the joy of all of our lives," Janice Small, Sereinat'e's grandmother, said to KTVU.

Her mother told the news station that Henderson was looking forward to having her second child.
