Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Lincoln City

Lewis Montsma earned Lincoln a 1-1 draw against Sheffield Wednesday with an 80th-minute leveller at Hillsborough.

Dennis Adeniran put the hosts ahead before Montsma equalised in the closing stages.

The first opening saw Anthony Scully dispossess Dominic Iorfa before firing in a shot which was saved by Bailey Peacock-Farrell at his near post.

Scully sent another shot straight at the goalkeeper in the first half, with Peacock-Farrell also keeping out an effort from Lewis Fiorini.

Wednesday's sole effort on target in the opening period saw Saido Berahino's shot saved by Josh Griffiths at his near post.

The deadlock was broken in the 55th minute when Fisayo Dele-Bashiru's firm effort was saved by Griffiths and Adeniran followed up to turn the ball in from a tight angle.

The hosts were visibly lifted by the goal, with Dele-Bashiru making a good run into the area before putting his shot beyond the far post, while Iorfa also fired wide.

However, Montsma equalised with a near-post header from a corner. Peacock-Farrell got a hand to the ball but could not keep it out.

To all Lincoln fans and football fans in general, apologies from the majority of Wednesdayites for the bilge you're having to read within this forum. Your team played well and it was only a 10' - 15' spell in which The Owls could have pulled clear. We didn't, so it's another draw. Best wishes, Stu.

Mind numbingly boring, flat, uninspiring performance lacking any signs of organisation, gameplan and objectives. What does this team do in training? Maybe they should learn how to pass, control, cross a ball, move into space, show some urgency, effort and fight and create some ideas. Absolutely dire. Moore's post match comments have become meaningless drivel. God help us.

Simply not good enough, no defensive or midfield plan. Too many square pegs in round holes. Players played out of position. Barry Bannan can only do so much on his own and needs better players and managers tac-tics to support him.
Simplify the game and play 4-4-2, soon as the fans are starting to show their discontent with Darren Moore , a good guy but massive questions about his credentials.

Maybe we could ask the League to cut the duration of our matches to 70 minutes then we'd be in with a shout. Seems there might be a fitness problem as well.

Sheffield Wednesday just haven't the financial resource's to get out of their ongoing struggle. Huge club that lacks any real support (ie) the amount of empty seats, decent players & club management in general.

Moore needs to go now and we need to get Carlos back in while there is still time. Nobody else can handle the pressure of managing the MASSIVE.
