Police investigating 2 separate fatal shootings in Middlesex County

LOWELL, Mass. — Two separate fatal shootings that happened Friday night are under investigation by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.

Authorities told Boston 25 News police were first alerted to a shooting at 6:15 p.m. Friday in Lowell. Lowell Police officers responded to the area of Barker Avenue where they found a 30-year-old man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The man was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died. This is an open and active investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, the Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, and the Lowell Police Department.

This shooting is under investigation by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, the Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, and the Everett Police Department.

The second shooting happened in Everett at approximately 8 p.m. Friday. Everett Police officers responded to the area of Second Street and Revere Street after receiving reports of shots fired. Officers also responded to Whidden Memorial Hospital for a report of a gunshot victim. They were told the victim was a 20-year-old man who died at the hospital.
