LaGrange, Troup County area to host variety of Halloween events

As Halloween approaches, the City of LaGrange issued a statement saying that it recognizes Sunday, Oct. 31 as Halloween. However, the city does not regulate or specify the day and time that children go trick or treating. Dates and times may vary depending on the neighborhood. 

Several events will occur throughout the community, including the Downtown Trick or Treat on Oct. 31 with local businesses giving out candy from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Other events include Hills and Dales Trick or Treat on Oct. 30 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. where costumed children can receive full-sized candy bars and walk the decorated garden. 

Chicken Salad Chick is hosting a Chick-or-Treat Oct. 30. All guests who dine in or carry out with us on Saturday will get to grab a mystery treat out of their chick basket and win a special prize.

The Marathon gas station on 1903 Hamilton Road will be hosting a trunk n’ treat on Oct. 29 from 4-6 p.m.

HYPE will be hosting its Bark at the Park 5k and dog walk on Oct. 30 starting at 8 a.m. Costumes are encouraged and two contests will be held. 

The Rotary Club will be hosting its Shoppes on Main trunk n’ treat event on Oct. 30 from 5-7 p.m.

Wild Leap will be hosting “Franks ‘N’ Steins Halloween Bash on Oct. 30 with live music and a costume contest. Attendees must be 21 and over.

The LaGrange Public Library will be hosting Not-So-Spooky Stuffed Animal Sleepover on Thursday, Oct. 28. This event allows kids to drop off their stuffed animals at the library where their animals will be treated to a sleepover by library staff. The kids will receive pictures of the sleep over the following day. The Hogansville Public Library will be handing out candy on Friday, Oct. 29 to children dressed in costumes. 

The Howard Family will host its fifth annual Halloween festival at 795 Holliday Drive in Franklin. The event will take place from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.

The Drive Bar in Hogansville will host a Halloweekened special on Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Oct. 31 from 1 – 8 p.m. Anyone who comes dressed in a costume will be entered in a chance to receive was $50 gift card and other prizes.

Several churches in the area host fall festivals every year. 

LaGrange First Methodist is having its annual free Community Fall Festival on Sunday, Oct. 24, from 4 p.m. to 6 pm.

First Presbyterian Church of LaGrange will host a church-wide Trunk n’ Treat event on Oct. 27 in the Hutchinson Traylor parking lot from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. There will be a costume contest, dinner and fun games on the lawn. 

Highland Baptists Church at 409 Askew Avenue will host a trunk n’ treat on Oct. 30  from 6-7 o,n,
