Sights and sounds from Alabama’s homecoming pep rally

It had been a while since Alabama held a homecoming gathering on the library steps. Rain canceled the 2019 pep rally before a global pandemic nixed every homecoming activity last year so emcee Eli Gold was happy to welcome a few thousand back to the quad on a nice Friday evening.

For more than an hour, the Million Dollar Band, the various spirit squads and speakers entertained the crowd before the bonfire on the quad.

The event culminated when Tuscaloosa senior McLean Moore was named homecoming queen with the largest voter turnout since 2015 with 13,180 students casting a ballot. The homecoming court included Savanah Lemon, Noelle Fall, Laney Ackles and Montana Fouts.

Take a look at the sights and sounds from the evening the 6 p.m. CT Saturday game with Tennessee.
