PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — Travis Dye became the first player in Football Bowl Subdivision history to score touchdowns on four consecutive carries and No. 10 Oregon overcame an early 14-point deficit to beat UCLA 34-31 on Saturday.
Anthony Brown had 381 yards of total offense for the Ducks (6-1, 3-1 Pac-12) against the Bruins (5-3, 3-2). Dye — who finished with 35 yards on 14 carries — also became the seventh Oregon running back since 2000 with at least four rushing touchdowns in a game.
Before Dye’s record day, six players shared the mark with TDs on three consecutive carries, including Illinois’ Howard Griffith and Virginia’s Tiki Barber.

(KOIN) — It didn’t look good early for the Oregon Ducks facing their former coach Chip Kelly in Los Angeles. But it got much better as the game went on. And so did Travis Dye.
UCLA got 2 relatively quick touchdowns in the 1st quarter to open up a 14-0 lead. But the Ducks began clawing back in the 2nd quarter.
Travis Dye ran for 4 touchdowns in the game. He got the Ducks on the board with a 1 yard run early in the 2nd quarter, then tied the game with a 4 yard run with 2:49 to play. The Bruins took a 17-14 halftime lead with a field goal as time expired in the first half.
The Ducks came out on fire in the 3rd quarter. Dye tacked on two more short touchdown runs to give Oregon the lead, 27-17, following a missed point-after. Anthony Brown took a keeper 43 yards to the endzone to expand the Ducks’ lead to 34-17.
But UCLA wasn’t done. They capped a 75-yard drive with a 2 yard TD run to draw within 10 points. Then the Bruins picked off a Brown pass deep in Oregon territory. That led to a UCLA touchdown as they pounded the ball in from the 1 to make it a 3-point game, 34-31, with 6:34 left.
The Ducks moved smartly down the field and were in field goal range when Brown threw into the endzone. The interception by the Bruins gave UCLA the ball on their 20 with 3 minutes left.
The Bruins converted a crucial 4th-and-7 with just over 2 minutes to go to get another set of downs. The Ducks defense tightened, but UCLA converted again on a 4th-and-8 with 1:05 left.
But with 48 seconds left, the Ducks picked off a sideline pass and ran it back to the Bruins 48, allowing them to run out the clock and preserve the 34-31 win.
