The Phoenix Suns and Portland Trail Blazers will battle in a Western Conference matchup on Saturday night. It's time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Suns-Blazers prediction and pick.

The Suns and Blazers will each look to pick up a win on Saturday, as each side has veterans who are hoping for big things this season. Chris Paul and Devin Booker will be looking to get back to the NBA Finals after losing to the Milwaukee Bucks earlier this year, while Damian Lillard is back for another season with the Blazers after his loyalty was tested following another quick postseason exit. The Blazers will be on a rest advantage Saturday, as they have not played since Wednesday, while the Suns are on a back-to-back following their win over the Lakers on Friday night.

Here's how the bookmakers have set the Suns-Blazers odds for this Saturday matchup.

NBA Odds: Suns-Blazers Odds

Phoenix Suns +2.5 (-110), +120 ML

Portland Trail Blazers -2.5 (-110), -142 ML

Over 232 points (-110)

Why The Suns Can Cover The Spread

Luckily for the Suns, they got to rest their starters some in the second half after leading by 30+ points at some points of their win over the Lakers. Chris Paul and Devin Booker will be in command of the Suns offense yet again this season, and that's a great thing if you like the Suns. The Blazers backcourt defense isn't exactly equipped to slow those two down with Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum, but they did make some defensive improvements on other parts of the roster, such as the acquisition of Larry Nance Jr. from the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Suns should have the talent edge on Saturday night, they are underdogs due to being on the road and on the second game of a back-to-back.

Why The Blazers Can Cover The Spread

Did I mention the Blazers have a rest advantage? Vegas reflects the rest advantage in the line, as the Suns are the better team in this matchup. However, the data has shown that two days rest vs. a team who played the night before. Add that to the fact that Portland will be looking for their first win this season, and the Blazers don't look like that bad of a pick. Portland struggled early in their season-opening loss to the Kings, but almost came back late. Lillard and company could be in good shape for a cover and a win on Saturday night, however.

Final Suns-Blazers Prediction & Pick

The Suns did get some rest late vs. the Lakers last night, but they still had to spend energy getting that big lead and then traveling after the game. Take the Blazers to get the win and the cover in their home opener on Saturday night.

FINAL SUNS-BLAZERS PREDICTION & PICK: Blazers -2.5 (-110)
