BROOK PARK, Ohio – A housekeeper threw bleach on a guest at about 11 a.m. Oct. 9 at Super 8 by Wyndham, 16644 Snow Road.

It happened during an argument, the facts of which are in dispute. The motel guest, 27, said she was brushing her teeth that morning in her room when the housekeeper knocked on the door and told her it was time to leave. The guest replied that she didn’t have to leave for another five minutes. The housekeeper said, “Get out you cokehead.”

The guest asked the housekeeper why she spoke to her that way. The housekeeper called the guest a drug addict and threw bleach at her until the bottle was empty. The guest said the bleach irritated and/or burned her skin and ruined her $350 pair of Ugg Slide Sandals. Police smelled bleach on the woman.

The housekeeper, who no longer works at Super 8, acknowledged that she told the guest that it was time for her to check out of the motel. She said the guest argued with her, informed her that she had a permit to carry a concealed weapon and threatened to shoot her. The housekeep ran away, and the guest chased her down a hallway and into another room.

The guest went nose-to-nose with the housekeeper and placed her hand in her face. The housekeeper grabbed a spray bottle on her cart and sprayed the contents at the guest. The nozzle stopped working after the first squirt, so the housekeeper removed the cap and emptied all of the contents on the guest. The housekeeper said she didn’t realize until later that the spray bottle contained bleach.

A city prosecutor decided not to file charges against either woman due to lack of evidence.
