The NY Giants are banged up, will be without key contributors, and are underdogs to the Carolina Panthers Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium

Sunday afternoon at MetLie Stadium, the undermanned NY Giants host the slumping Carolina Panthers, aiming to snap a two-game losing skid and climb back into the NFC East race.

Over the past two weeks, the NY Giants have been outscored by the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams 82-31, and this week will once again be without running back Saquon Barkley, and wide receivers Kadarius Toney and Kenny Golladay against a Panthers defense that enters ranked third in the NFL in total defense.

Will Sunday be more of the same for the banged up and beleaguered NY Giants, perhaps leading to wholesale changes? Or will the NY Giants find a way to pull off a home upset?

Here’s arethree bold predictions, and a score pick for NY Giants vs. Panthers:

1) Panthers’ Haason Reddick, Brian Burns combine for five-plus sacks

It’s almost unfair to Daniel Jones, to evaluate the third-year quarterback behind this incarnation of the NY Giants’ offensive line.

Tackles Nate Solder and Matt Peart have combined to allow five sacks and 27 pressures so far this season, and they’ll be forced into action with left tackle Andrew Thomas on injured reserve.

The duo of Solder and Peart face a daunting challenge Sunday; keeping Panthers edge rushers Haason Reddick and Brian Burns out of Jones’ face, and Jones off his back.

So far this season, Reddick has already produced eight sacks and 15 total pressures, while Burns has added three more sacks and 19 more pressures.

Jones could be in for a long day, and it wouldn’t be surprising if Reddick and Burns combine for five or more sacks.
