Manchester City have returned to England following an emphatic 5-1 win over Club Brugge this week. Moving on, the Cityzens have another away fixture lined up this weekend as they are now slated to face Brighton at the AMEX Stadium.

City’s opponents, Brighton, have been in decent form this term as they have already bagged four wins in eight games, therefore, have climbed up to the fourth spot in the league table. Both sides met each other back in May, in which the Seagulls had the last laugh as they defeated the Sky Blues 3-2 at home turf.

Ahead of the game, City boss Guardiola had few words of praise for Graham Potter’s men, as he said :

"I enjoy watching Brighton. They are an exceptional team."

After an impressive win against Brugge, the Sky Blues would be looking to maintain their good run of form in their ongoing Premier League campaign. At AMEX stadium, the defending champions will aim for all three points in a bid to stay in the race for their title defense.

Against the Seagulls, Ederson is expected to return between the sticks and would hope to keep a clean sheet away from home. Manchester City’s backline will see Ruben Dias and John Stones being slotted as the center-backs. Aymeric Laporte will likely be rested for this game as he was handed a start in the Brugge fixture this week.

At the defensive flanks, Kyle Walker will hold his place as the right-back. Joao Cancelo is again in contention to receive a nod at left-back meaning that Oleksandr Zinchenko will again miss out on a place in Guardiola’s side.

In the center of the pitch, Rodri will be deployed as the defensive midfielder. The Spaniard will be supported by Kevin De Bruyne as the left central midfielder. Bernardo Silva’s hot form in front of the goal will see him retain his place as the right central midfielder.

Lastly, this City attacking unit will be led by Raheem Sterling as the Englishman will be featuring as the no.9.On the wings, Jack Grealish will be occupying the left wing and will look to put up another intense shift in the attacking third. Gabriel Jesus will most probably return to this lineup as the right-winger and will look to add more goals to his tally on Saturday.
