The Gov. Mario Cuomo Bridge was lit up in green Friday night in recognition of Phelan McDermid Syndrome Awareness Day.
Phelan-McDermid syndrome is a rare genetic condition that causes developmental and speech delays, behavioral problems and a weakened ability to feel pain or sweat.
The day to recognize the condition is held each year on Oct. 22 with green being the color to raise awareness for it.
