Emmerdale's Charles rejects Manpreet again in death aftermath

Emmerdale's Charles Anderson rejects Manpreet Sharma again next week as he struggles with his grief for Andrea Tate.

Charles (Kevin Mathurin) was left devastated this week as his partner tragically lost her life in the survival adventure challenge. He's still unaware that Meena Jutla was responsible for Andrea's death.

In next week's episodes, Charles discharges himself from hospital after receiving treatment for the injuries he suffered during the event.

He immediately finds himself in an awkward situation with Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker), who came clean over her feelings for him after they'd fought for their lives together.

Charles makes it very clear to Manpreet that he still has no interest in reuniting and they can never get back together.

After rebuffing Manpreet, Charles faces more turmoil as the police confirm that Andrea's death was unlikely to be an accident.

As a murder investigation launches, the speculation begins over who could have killed Andrea – with Meena suddenly feeling very nervous about potentially being caught out.

Anna Nightingale, who played Andrea, recently explained why she decided to bow out from the role after two years.

Anna said: "I've had such a great time playing Andrea, but after playing her for two and half years, I thought now was the time to try something new. I spoke to the producers and the storyline they created for my exit was beyond what I expected."

Asked how she felt about her final storyline, Anna replied: "A combination of terror and excitement. I wanted to give it my all and go out on a high. The conversations around stunts and story with production got more exciting each time I spoke to them.

"Obviously, they knew I was expecting and very much wanted me to be safe and comfortable first and foremost. The most important thing for me was navigating the balance of keeping me and baby safe, but doing the best job I could."

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
