314ds agoThe Town of Islip is giving its residents a new chance to find a furry best friend.
Officials unveiled the new state-of-the-art Town of Islip Animal Shelter with a ribbon-cutting and red carpet.
The shelter features 82 kennels, 4 viewing rooms, a puppy and cat display and a surgical suite. Officials tell News 12 this new facility is a different kind of environment for the animals, as well as the staff.
Officials noted the expansion has been talked about for years and they are happy it was finally able to happen.
