On this night five years ago, I was crapping bricks with my friend Adam at Wrigley Field. Well, I mean, that is to say I was attending Game 6 of the 2016 NLCS with my friend Adam, and the game had me metaphorically crapping bricks. And ivy. If it could be come out of my metaphorical hind-hole, it was.
The Chicago Cubs then had a chance to finish off the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS, and go to their first World Series in 71 years. So, yeah, nerves were high. Thankfully, the scoring started early for the Cubs, and Kyle Hendricks turned in one of the best starts in Cubs history. So mostly I just got to enjoy the night like no sporting night I’d ever experienced before.
