Justin Gaethje and Al Iaquinta trade barbs: ‘Little b—ch’

Justin Gaethje and Al Iaquinta go at it ahead of their respective fights at UFC 268.

What was intended as a friendly opportunity for fan interaction quickly turned into a heated exchange between Justin Gaethje and Al Iaquinta.

This author posted a tweet on Friday morning asking if fans had questions for Iaquinta ahead of UFC 268, taking place inside Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY on Sat., Nov. 6 via ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV). The old mobile phone caused a small earthquake as notifications flooded in. At the core of this seismic event: a reply from Gaethje.

“Ask him if he has a better manager yet, please,” Gaethje responded to the thread.

“Worry about [Michael] Chandler bubba,” Iaquinta retorted. “Same manager.”

Gaethje (No. 2) fights Chandler (No. 4) on the same card, headlined by an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight rematch pitting Kamaru Usman vs. Colby Covington, plus UFC Women’s Strawweight champion Rose Namajunas vs. Zhang Weili 2.

“Damn, really?” Gaethje asked. “We talked about this almost three years ago when you dropped in my DM’s like a little b—ch. Fight someone, that may help.”

“And you chose to fight James Vick (watch highlights) instead of me,” Iaquinta bit back.

Things appeared to end on a pleasant note as the two UFC lightweights traded laugh-cry emojis before calling it a day.
