On Wednesday, Delegates Ronnie Campbell and Wendell Walker, along with state Sen. Mark Peake, presented resolutions at the shop honoring the face of the store, Mary Woodruff, who passed earlier this year at the age of 104.
"We knew that lots of people would come in to see her, and to pass by and just to sit and talk with her. But until she passed away, I don’t think we realized just how much,” Owner Angie Scott said.
This is now the 2nd time the House of Delegates has honored the legendary pie shop in Monroe of Route 130.
The resolutions were signed with bipartisan support and 13 total members of the Virginia General Assembly.
