The Company Store shares results from consumer trends report

National poll finds sustainability, quality, bold patterns and pet products are key themes for 2022

Weehawken, N.J. – To mark its 110th anniversary The Company Store has created a curated shop that showcases products tied to key consumer trends.

The limited-time Anniversary Sale Shop opened yesterday and continues through tomorrow. Shoppers can receive a 30% discount on the highest-priced item in their online cart. The Company Store survey was conducted in late September and early October by Wakefield Research, which polled 1,000 nationally representative U.S. adults.

The trends and some of The Company Store products tied to them include:

Doing Good/Sustainability: An overwhelming 87% said sustainability is an important consideration when making purchases for their bedroom, including 96% of those under 30. Products under that umbrella include Company utility bedding, the Legends Hotel organic cotton pillow, the Legends Hotel cotton/Tencel bath collection and the Green Earth quick dry towel from Micro Cotton.

Quality as the New Luxury: 78% said they would prefer to buy quality products that are built to last, including 81% of women and more than the 74% of men. Under this trend, The Company Store is offering its Legends fashion bedding, Legends Luxury down utility bedding and bath towels made from either Supima or Egyptian cotton.

Home is Your Haven: 53% said the pandemic made them realize that keeping their home comfortable should always be a priority. In addition, 48% named designing with comfort in mind a one of their top bedroom trends – a choice that resonated with 55% of Boomers. Within this trend, The retailer is spotlighting velvet cotton flannel duvet cover, a velvet quilt and a relaxed linen duvet cover as well as cotton coverlets and blankets.

Giving the Gift of Connection: 83% said they prefer a personalized gift to a trendy one. The related assortment includes the Ophelia handcrafted cotton quilt, Company Cotton solid color quilts, the Legends Hotel relaxed linen quilt and Turkish cotton bath towels.

Be Bold With Color: The Company Store said that although its most popular colors have always been neutrals, 48% of Gen Z respondents picked richer color as a top bedroom trend for 2022. The curated bedding collection in this grouping includes solid color bedding in more saturated hues as well as the multi-colored Spectrum bath towel.

Be Bold With Pattern: 23% of consumer under 40 expressed a preference for distinctive patterns in the bedroom. In addition, 33% of survey respondents said they plan to spruce up their living room with new blankets or pillows next year. The product selections for this trend include floral fashion bedding in darker tones, a tartan plaid comforter in moody hues and the multi-patterned Mariposa handcrafted quilt.

Tradition:  73% said they want to make up for time lost with loved ones during the pandemic but 69% of consumers in the survey said their homes aren’t fully ready for guests this holiday season. This assortment includes seasonally themed table linens, throws, felt ornaments and the Company Cotton flannel pajama sets.

The “Lapdog” of Luxury: 49% of respondents said they plan to spend more on their pets this holiday season. The Company Store’s pet bed covers, pet bed comforters, pet sleeping bags, a down-alt pet bed insert, a bone-shaped dog pillow and flannel dog pajamas.
