CGI Automated Mfg. acquires Advanced Laser Machining

CGI Automated Mfg., a portfolio company of Chicago-based private equity firm Core Industrial Partners, has acquired Advanced Laser Machining (AL), a provider of metals-focused contract manufacturing.

Based in Chippewa Falls, Wis., with a second location in Spooner, Wis., AL operates four facilities covering more than 150,000 sq. ft. It offers metal fabrication, complex assembly, and complementary value-added services to end markets including supercomputing, aerospace and defense, medical, transportation, and industrials. Its processes include robotic welding, hydroforming, fiber laser cutting, punching, machining, electromechanical assembly, and powder coating.

CGI is a provider of complex sheet metal production parts, assemblies, and weldments for the electrical transmission and distribution, medical, food, lighting, and industrial markets.
