Marshfield Community Theater’s education department is hosting the virtual sketch comedy show, “Comedy Tonight: Halloween” Friday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. The show will be streamed LIVE on both their website and Facebook page.

Comedy Tonight is directed by Marshfield native Kelby Lorenz and will feature local teens performing Halloween themed skits combining both humor and horror.

“We will see the Sanderson sisters from Hocus Pocus, Frankenstein, Pennywise and all of your favorite Halloween characters that you love,” said Education Director Carolyn Billingsly.

The sketch comedy show includes a cast of eight teen performers from Marshfield, Rogerville, Fair Grove, and Springfield. The cast includes: McKenzie Abella, Jillian Adamson, Ethan Brower, Natalie Cruise, Lenzie Goodman, Reagan Inman, Ian Thompson, and Savana West. Lorenz can attest to the hard work of the show’s young performers; they prepared the comedy show in under three weeks.

“I would say that the show is going to be so fun for everyone who watches... I’ve really enjoyed getting to see all of them grow, and they make me genuinely laugh in every rehearsal,” he added.

The comedy sketch is completely free to watch; however, the opportunity to make a donation will be available throughout the show. The performers have set a goal to raise $500 for a scholarship that is awarded to a local high school senior.

“Getting to raise money to support one of our MCT seniors as they head off to college is so rewarding. I hope everyone who can watch, will watch, because it’s going to be a fun night full of spooks and laughs!” said Lorenz.

If interested in making a donation or applying for MCT’s scholarship, follow their Facebook page or visit their website, marshfieldtheater.org for more information.
