Outside of maybe Tom Brady, no one on the Bucs’ offense is more discussed than running back Leonard Fournette. The emergence of Fournette over the last three games has not only helped the Bucs win all three, but it’s brought a level of excitement as well.

Fournette has 332 rushing yards on 78 attempts and three touchdowns this season, along with 25 receptions for 213 yards. The bulk of this, though, has come in wins over New England, Miami and Philadelphia. Fournette accounted for 376 all-purpose yards and three rushing touchdowns in those games.

There’s no question he’s found a groove in this offense, and a couple of more nicknames to go with it. These include “All Season Lenny” and “Thursday Night Lenny” to add to the ever growing list.

“My coaches trust in me and in the game plan,” Fournette said. “And the players too. So just taking on that role. I’ve been doing it my whole life too. Last year kind of helped me too. I still feel fresh, not getting the ball a lot of times [led to] not too many bruises on my body. So I feel good. I’m in good shape right now.”

“(He’s) really good, really good,” head coach Bruce Arians said about Fournette’s growth in Tampa Bay. “He’s fit in, he’s found his niche. When ‘RoJo’ (Ronald Jones II) got hurt he took over and he’s not looking back. He’s playing really, really well.”

Playing so well brings a lot of joy with it. Fournette’s had a great time with the Bucs, going so far as to say that he feels as happy as his rookie year with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

“Yeah, I’m happy here,” Fournette said. “I’m very happy. I was probably my first year in Jacksonville, but it’s like it’s back to that. I’ve got the one year under my belt with a great group of guys and people. I love it here. And they love me, so same.”
