Lexington Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Deputies in Lexington Co. say a man and a woman are accused of trying to get drugs and other contraband to her son and another inmate inside the Lexington Detention Center.

Deputies say Cassandra Shanklin and Hunter Warren are charged with furnishing or possessing contraband, criminal conspiracy, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and possession with the intent to distribute a Schedule III substance, according to arrest warrants.

Lexington Co. Sheriff Jay Koon says they received a tip about Shanklin planning to leave the contraband near an area where inmates have some access on October 9th.

Koon says deputies found the package of meth, marijuana, and pills before the inmates could get it.

Shanklin’s son Joshua and fellow inmate Donny Zimbro are also charged in the incident.
