Welcome to the NFL GPP Pivots article, where we’ll be looking to uncover some sneaky-good DFS plays away from the popular lifts. These recommendations are usually risk/reward commodities meant to be used in large-field tournaments. Typically, blending these low-owned hidden gems with well-aligned staples contributes to a viable GPP strategy.
Keep in mind that the following player write-ups were constructed earlier in the week, and sometimes injury situations can alter the fantasy landscape. Monitoring our NFL News & Headlines Feed up until game time will keep you in the loop while giving you the subsequent DFS consequences of each information piece.
We will be looking at Sunday’s main slate, so Sunday and Monday Night Football are not included in the following analysis.

QUARTERBACK
Tua Tagovailoa - Miami (vs. Atlanta) - DK: $5,500 FD: $7,100 Yahoo: $26
Tua returned to action in London last week. He ended up with a nice line, posting 329 yards and two touchdowns for 22.36 fantasy points against the Jaguars. It took 47 pass attempts to get there, but the Dolphins could find themselves in another pass-happy situation vs. Atlanta on Sunday. The Falcons have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to QBs this season, opening the door for Tua to find another strong fantasy outing.

RUNNING BACK
Chuba Hubbard - Carolina (at NY Giants) - DK: $6,100 FD: $7,300 Yahoo: $22
Hubbard isn’t a super sneaky pick, but he could be somewhat underrated this weekend. The rookie from Oklahoma State has been decent, but not necessarily great while filling in for Chrisitan McCaffrey. He’ll get the starting nod again with CMC out, and this could be a breakout game for Hubbard. The Giants have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to running backs this season, and game flow should favor the Carolina running game. Panthers’ Head Coach Matt Rhule mentioned that he wants to commit more to running the ball, so that doesn’t hurt Hubbard’s fantasy appeal.
J.D. McKissic - Washington (at Green Bay) - DK: $5,000 FD: $5,700 Yahoo: $16
Antonio Gibson is probable for Sunday’s game, which will cause some people to shy away from McKissic. However, game flow could force Washington to pass the ball more than usual while trying to keep pace with the Packers. That’s where McKissic comes in as a pass-catching specialist. He took that role for 110 total yards last week against the Chiefs, so don’t sleep on him as a cheap flex. That especially holds true on a full PPR site like DraftKings.

WIDE RECEIVER
Jaylen Waddle - Miami (vs. Atlanta) - DK: $5,600 FD: $5,900 Yahoo: $16
The Tua-to-Waddle connection was alive and well in London last Sunday, as the rookie WR came down with 10 receptions for 70 yards and two scores. He had 13 targets in that game, which marks the second time in four games with double-digit looks. As mentioned earlier, the Dolphins could be forced to the air yet again, and the matchup looks good against an Atlanta team that has allowed the ninth-most fantasy points to receivers.
Kalif Raymond - Detroit (at LA Rams) - DK: $4,700 FD: $5,500 Yahoo: $12
Detroit’s receiver situation was already shaky to begin the season, and now it’s much worse. Quintez Cephus and Tyrell Williams are on injured reserve. T.J. Hockenson is playing through an injury. Kalif Raymond serves as the WR1 in an offense that will be forced to throw the ball. He took that role for seven targets, six catches, and 37 yards last week. His depth of target will not impress anyone, but Raymond does have a two-TD game to his name this season. He’s an interesting speculative play who could see double-digit looks.

TIGHT END
Hunter Henry - New England (vs. NY Jets) - DK: $4,100 FD: $5,700 Yahoo: $17
Stacking the Atlanta-Miami game with Pitts or Gesicki is a nice tournament strategy in my opinion. However, if you need a cheaper tight end away from the popular picks, then Hunter Henry could be your guy. He’s a red-zone stalwart with a receiving touchdown in three straight games. Henry will settle into a nice matchup against the Jets, who allowed the most fantasy points to tight ends last season. The Jets just allowed TE Kyle Pitts to go for 9-119-1 last time around. Sure, Pitts is more versatile than Henry, but there’s still optimism in this matchup.
