(WWJ) -- Detroit has gotten a lot rattier since last year.
At least, according to a recent study done by the pest control company, Orkin.
The Motor City climbed two spots to No. 8 on Orkin’s annual list of the Top 50 Rattiest Cities, which ranks the worst places in America for rat infestation based on the number of new rodent treatments performed from Sept. 15, 2020 to Sept. 15, 2021.
Chicago tops the list of the seventh year in a row, followed by New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco-Oakland, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia.
But Detroit isn’t the only Michigan metro area to make the list.
Grand Rapids-Kalamazoo is ranked 34th, while Flint-Saginaw made an appearance at No. 49.
According to the National Pest Management Associations, more than 20 million rodents invade homes each year.
