WORCESTER — Meet our peacemaking forebearers during a "Walking Tour of Worcester’s Peace History" beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Abolitionist Abby Kelley Foster

Presented by the Center for Nonviolent Solutions of Worcester, the tour begins at Lincoln Square and traverses Main Street to City Hall. Along the way participants will meet historical figures. People can learn about the strategic peace of Massasoit, Great Sachem of Wampanoag peoples; listen to a dramatic re-telling of the nonviolent rebellion of 1774; and hear the stirring speeches of abolitionists and advocates for the rights of women.

"Worcester’s past is exceptionally rich in examples of nonviolence, all give inspiration for the work of building peace in our present day," the center said in an announcement.

Parking is available in the lot across from Worcester Memorial Auditorium.

There is no charge for the tour but contributions are welcome. For more information, visit www.nonviolentsolutions.org.
