Newcastle United: Man arrested over alleged racist gesture
Police investigating an alleged display of a racist gesture by a football fan have made an arrest.
Northumbria Police said there had been reports of a home fan gesturing in the direction of Tottenham supporters at Sunday's Premier League game with Newcastle United at St James' Park.
A force spokesman said a 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated harassment, causing alarm or distress.
He has been released on police bail.
