'The Summit Of The Gods' Trailer: Netflix Animated Film Follows A Climber Risking His Life To Climb Everest

When the documentary, “Free Solo,” arrived and wowed audiences, many people were shocked to learn just how fearless climber Alex Honnold is, and how it might be attributed to some sort of physical issue in his brain. How else can you explain why someone would climb by themselves up a rock that could lead to his death? Well, that same question gets tackled in the new animated film, “The Summit of the Gods.”

As seen in the trailer for “The Summit of the Gods,” the film follows the story of a Japanese photojournalist who tags along with a mysterious climber that is attempting to summit Mount Everest. And over the course of the journey, the journalist discovers what would lead a person to want to test their body and risk their life just to climb higher up a mountain.
