First of two My Why Tour games to open at PPL Center

The U.S. Women's National Team will open the first game of the My Why Tour, presented by Toyota, against rival Canada at the PPL Center in Allentown, Pa. Puck drop is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live in the U.S. on NHL Network.

LAST TIME OUT

Friday's tilt marks the first game action for the U.S. Women’s National Team since taking home the silver at the 2021 IIHF Women's World Championship in August. In the championship game, Team USA jumped out to an early 2-0 lead behind a pair of goals from Alex Carpenter (North Reading, Mass.), before ultimately falling 3-2 in overtime to Canada. Nicole Hensley (Lakewood, Colo.) stopped 29 shots in net for the U.S.

BACK ON HOME SOIL

Tonight marks the first time in 622 days that the U.S. Women's National Team is playing a game against an international opponent on U.S. soil. With the pandemic disrupting competition globally, Team USA last played in front of a home crowd on February 8, 2020, defeating Canada, 4-3 in overtime, in the final game of the 2020 Rivalry Series at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.
