Members of the Case Western Reserve University community and the general public are invited to the CWRU Film Society‘s showing of Disney’s Moana (2016) Friday, Oct. 22 in Strosacker Auditorium. The showtimes will be at 7 p.m., 9:30 p.m. and 11:59 p.m.
Admission is $4, and concessions are available for purchase. The group’s limited edition reusable Film Society tumblers will be available for sale. Register your tickets in advance on their CampusGroups page. Masking is mandatory for all attendees.
Film synopsis
This CGI Disney film tells the story of Moana, the strong-willed daughter of a chief of a Polynesian village, who is chosen by the ocean itself to reunite a mystical relic with the goddess Te Fiti. When a blight strikes her island, Moana sets sail in search of Maui, a legendary demigod, in the hope of returning the relic to Te Fiti and saving her people. The original plot takes inspiration from Polynesian myths. Stars Auli’i Cravalho as Moana and features the voices of Dwayne Johnson, Rachel House, Temuera Morrison, Jemaine Clement, Nicole Scherzinger, and Alan Tudyk. The film features songs written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foa’i and Mark Mancina.
