Local law enforcement agencies are participating in an ongoing national effort to keep unused or expired prescription drugs out of the wrong hands. The Pella Police Department and Marion County Sheriff’s office are participating in national Take Back Day this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. The purpose of the collection event is to ensure prescriptions can be disposed of safely and to avoid the ability to abuse those that may be particularly dangerous or addictive. Those who can’t make it to the national drug take back event this weekend can search for a permanent collection site in their area at this link.
