The Denver Broncos have now lost four games in a row following a promising 3-0 start. Since then, the sky has been falling and there is no end in sight.

Following a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the thought of that 3-0 start being completely squandered began to creep in. After a loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, who had just gone through a dramatic coaching change, I discussed how wholesale changes were in order.

So what can you say after this loss to the Cleveland Browns, a team without key starters at quarterback and running back? All you can say is that this season is basically over.

Yes, I know. That sounds awfully dramatic. I also know how far Broncos fans will go to defend their team and some will even say that this coaching staff is not that bad. The Washington Football Team is next on the schedule. At home. That game is a win, right?

No, it’s not. These Broncos probably can’t even go back and beat the teams that they started 3-0 against this season. Yes, this coaching staff is that bad. It’s not even debatable. And yes, sadly, this season is over.

45. 17. 53. Final. 14

The Broncos still have 10 games to play this season but really, can you see them winning more than a couple of those? They are going to stumble to the finish line, miss the playoffs for a sixth straight season and have a top 10 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

And guess what, the big question during the offseason will be about who will be the quarterback of the future, because it doesn’t seem like that player is on the current roster.

If this all sounds familiar, it should. This is a bad cycle that this team has been in. It has gone around in circles looking for something positive but it’s just not there with the likes of Vic Fangio, Pat Shurmur and Teddy Bridgewater in key positions within the organization.

This Broncos team looks really, really bad right now

To make matters worse, Von Miller suffered what could be a serious injury during this game and the players the Broncos have been missing are becoming more noticeable by the minute.

Missing Josey Jewell and Alexander Johnson in the middle of the defense stuck out like a sore thumb in this game. The Broncos could not stop the run at all and D’Ernest Johnson, the Browns’ third-string running back, rushed for 146 yards in this game.

So where do the Broncos go from here? With the losses and injuries piling up, the team is quickly descending to the bottom of the pack in the AFC.

Major changes must come in 2022. The Broncos need to go in a completely different direction, including something official as far as the team’s ownership goes. A new coaching staff. Another attempt at finding a long-term solution at quarterback. Those are things to look forward to.

Next. Should Broncos make a play for Tua?. dark

For the short-term future, there’s nothing to look forward to. Stick a fork in these Denver Broncos. They’re done.
