Thursday night featured a marquee matchup between the Atlanta Hawks and the Dallas Mavericks. It was Trae Young and his Hawks that came out on top in a convincing victory over Luka Doncic and the Mavs and after the game, Trae had a special message for all those who continue to doubt Atlanta.
Trae Young is well aware of the slander against the Hawks and they've decided to use this as motivation for this season (h/t NBA on TNT on Twitter):

Not even the fact that the Hawks went all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals last season is enough for them to be considered as one of the favorites to go all the way this year. Trae Young is taking all of this in and he's out to prove the doubters wrong.
Thursday's demolition job on Doncic and the Mavs was a good start. For his part, however, Young did not have the best of games, finishing with 19 points on 6-of-16 shooting, to go along with two triples, two rebounds, 14 assists, and five turnovers in 33 minutes of action.
Young and the Hawks return to action on Saturday to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Rocket Mortgage FiealdHouse.
