Horse-O-Ween: The second annual Horse-O-Ween event will be held from 5-9 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Ocala Downtown Market, 403 SE Osceola Ave., Ocala. Costume contests for children at 6 p.m., for pets at 6:30 p.m. and for horses at 7 p.m. Kids trick-or-treating, carriage rides, family photo ops, vendors, live music, food trucks and more. Rocky Horror Picture Show: Insomniac Theatre will present “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” in shadowcast at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 29-30 at the Reilly Arts Center, 500 NE Ninth St., Ocala. Tickets, $10-$25, available at reillyartscenter.com or 351-1606. 

Old Florida Cracker Craft Show & Food Festival: This eighth annual event at Harbison Farm Cattle & Produce in Anthony features a craft show, smoked pork loin lunch, food vendors, live music and cake and pie contest and auction. The event, which draws thousands of visitors, will run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 30.

Boo Bash: This family-friendly event at E.D. Croskey Recreation Center will include face painting, crafts and candy. The free event runs from 5 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 30 at the center, 1510 NW Fourth St., Ocala.

First Friday Art Walk: The First Friday Art Walk returns to the downtown Ocala area from 6-9 p.m. Nov. 5. Hands-on art activities and demonstrations, local artists selling works, plus sidewalk buskers, and live musician performances on the downtown square.

40th annual Marion County Chili Cook-Off: Enjoy a variety of secret chili recipes, a craft beer garden, car show, a children’s area, and more beginning at 10 a.m. Nov. 6 at the Marion Chili Cook-Off, held at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion, 2228 NE Jacksonville Rd., Ocala. “Alphonse Mucha: Master of Art Nouveau”: This exhibit will be on view Nov. 6-Jan. 9 at the Appleton Museum of Art, 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala. Selected from the The Dhawan Collection, Los Angeles, one of the finest private collections of Mucha’s work in the United States, the exhibition presents 75 works by Mucha, who is most often remembered for the prominent role he played in shaping the aesthetics of French Art Nouveau at the turn of the 20th century.
