Probably the most diverse among all Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, Eternals has a lot of firsts for the film franchise and it is an amazing feat to finally have representation on the big screen especially with an LGBTQ Superhero, Phastos, arriving. During their world premiere, none other than Kevin Feige revealed that such step taken in this flick is just the start of many.

Phastos, portrayed by Brian Tyree Henry, will be making his debut in the Eternals in a very special way: he is the first openly gay superhero in the MCU, and more than that, he has a family in the movie with Haaz Sleiman as his husband and even with a child shown to have Thena (Angelina Jolie) as his babysitter, shown in various teasers of the film.

In a chat with Variety in the world premiere of Eternals, Kevin Feige highlighted the character of Phastos and proudly said that "It's just the start," pertaining to LGBTQ+ representation in the MCU. Feige stressed, "There have been gay heroes before in the comics. It is more than past time in the movies."

Well, this year, Phastos will definitely be making the headlines but recently, another MCU character also came out in his very own series: Loki admitted being bisexual in the Disney+ series. Also, in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, Valkyrie will be looking out for a queen to rule with her, having her comic-accurate sexuality debut in the movies.
