Ali Shahzad has threatened Misbah Maalik's career in Hollyoaks.
The two had a showdown because Ali was responsible for improperly investigating a recent incident at the hospital where Misbah designated her responsibilities to nurse Cleo McQueen.
Thursday's (October 21) first-look episode took place on the day of the medical review hearing, where Shaq urged Misbah to give Ali a chance.

Meanwhile, Ali was busy getting dumped by Mandy Richardson after he'd made a nasty comment about a woman running nearby. Mandy stunned Ali by insisting he wasn't her type of man.
During the hearing, Cleo was left off the hook once Misbah argued the nurse shouldn't be held responsible for being given an assignment she wasn't fully qualified to handle.
Misbah wasn't so lucky, as Ali announced he was now going to investigate her because she "shirked [her] responsibilites" to her patient.
Ali criticised her for walking off the job for "personal reasons", when Misbah insisted: "I was walking away from you!"
This led to Ali accusing her of "unprincipled, unprofessional and unwarranted" conduct, then he warned: "You are putting me in a position of having to make some very difficult decisions."
Ali later dropped by Misbah's home to have supper with Shaq, but before leaving, he revealed he'd be issuing her with a formal warning.
"You do have a habit of doing things wrong," Ali insisted. "You'll have it in writing tomorrow… Furthermore, I suggest... I strongly recommend you find something else!"

Misbah explained that her years at Deer Valley were her life's work, but Ali threatened that her mistake could have a "devastating domino effect".
Ali also ordered her to drop her grudge against him over Shaq, or he'd make sure she made another "silly little mistake" she couldn't come back from.
