Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Hollyoaks continues the tense storyline between Misbah Maalik and her malicious ex Ali Shahzad next week, with Shaq Qureshi trying to help his mother and her career.
Ever since Shaq's birth father Ali (Raji James) reappeared, he has only managed to wreak havoc on Misbah's (Harvey Vidi) life.
At first, he fed lies to Shaq, telling him his relationship with Misbah was nothing but a fling. He also told his son he had pressured Misbah to get an abortion purely because he was concerned for her wellbeing.

Behind his caring facade, Ali is trying to destroy Misbah's career. He had issued a formal warning against her following a tragic mistake.
The woman is being investigated for medical malpractice alongside Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin) after she walked away from her duties to escape from her ex.
Misbah was so shocked to see Ali for the first time in decades that she instructed Cleo to administer Marnie Nightingale's (Lysette Anthony) medication, despite being aware she wasn't qualified to do so unsupervised.

Meanwhile, Shaq is trying to build a relationship with his father, while Misbah struggles to listen to him gushing over the man who is intimidating her.
Since her formal warning at work, she has been considering quitting her job to stay away from Ali.

Later on, Imran (Ijaz Rana) confronts his mother about some job advertisements he has seen on the table. He tells her not to leave the job she loves just because it means Ali will be there. Sadly, Misbah thinks she doesn't have a choice.
On his part, Imran is still pretending to go to university, keeping up his act with his family until Misbah almost catches him.
Finally, Shaq asks Ali to drop the formal warning against Misbah, but will Ali help her out or will he continue threatening his ex?
