Prentice Penny, Aunjanue Ellis And More To Appear At Third Annual MACRO x HBCU Entertainment Summit In Atlanta

The event is open to students and alumni from Atlanta HBCU’s as well as aspiring professionals.

The third annual MACRO x HBCU Entertainment Summit is scheduled to take place this Saturday (October 23) for an in-person festival at Atlanta’s Atlantic Station. This year’s event will host an array of panels and programming, a pitch competition, food trucks, giveaways, a docu-series screening and a film screening. The summit will also be available to students at HBCUs across the country via a TikTok live stream which will start at noon EST.

Several celebrities are scheduled to appear including Aunjanue Ellis, Prentice Penny, Nicole Ari Parker, Nicco Annan, Young Nudy and Stephen "Dr." Love will be made as well as a host of entertainment industry executives. Multi-platform media company MACRO was founded in 2015 by CEO Charles D. King and fully represents the voice and insights of Black people and people of color within the entertainment industry. The mission of the event, which first started in 2019, is to engage and educate students (especially students from Atlanta’s HBCUs) on entertainment and media careers and opportunities.

The summit is open to students and alumni from Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Morris Brown College and Spelman College as well as aspiring media and entertainment professionals in the Atlanta area.

This year’s event, sponsored by Warner Bros., will end with an advanced screening of the Richard Williams biopic, King Richard  (starring Will Smith) which follows the life of the father of tennis phenoms Venus and Serena Williams.
