Which Sounds Best, The Lamborghini Murcielago SV Or The Aventador SV?

The Murcielago SV and Aventador SV are two of the very finest supercars ever produced by Lamborghini, but which sounds better?

Recently, a couple dozen Lamborghinis took to the streets of Italy for a roadtrip and at one of the stops, the owners of a white Murcielago SV and a red Aventador SV decided to have a little rev battle.

Powering both cars is a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12. However, the engine found in the Aventador is all-new and features much more modern components than that of the Murcielago. Unsurprisingly, it is also more powerful, capable of churning out 740 hp in SV configuration. By comparison, the V12 of the Murcielago SV tops out at 661 hp.

Both cars sound incredible and even though the Murcielago SV is older, we think the soundtrack produced by its V12 is slightly more refined and pure than the growl of its successor. Something that cannot be denied is the fact that the duo are among the finest-sounding supercars ever and with electric performance cars becoming increasingly common, both should be remembered fondly for decades to come.

Interestingly, the Murcielago SV is significantly rarer than its successor. In fact, just 186 examples were ever produced of a planned 350 unit production run. By comparison, Lamborghini built 600 examples of the Aventador SV Coupe and 500 examples of the Aventador SV Roadster.
