Creativity can thrive in the darkest times. Marble Eyes was born out of the 2020 Pandemic. Live music came to a halt and this group of musicians from the New Hampshire Seacoast decided to band together and create a collection of music that is best described as “Rock and Roll For The Soul.”

The Marble Eyes debut album Return To The Roses officially releases via Color Red on October 21st 2021. Self-produced, this 14-track record is filled with a wide variety of influences that all tie together as a cohesive sound in the realm of pure Rock And Roll. Every member in the band is a songwriter and there are multiple lead singers mixed with 3 part vocal harmonies reminiscent of acts like The Band and The Traveling Wilburys.

The album begins with the title track, Return To The Roses, which blends high energy rhythms with vocal harmonies throughout the entire song. Two of the previously released singles live on the front half of the album.  Tollbooth is a song with a modern post rock feel that speaks about facing the battles ahead with strength but realizing that there is a toll to be paid.  You Can’t Fool Me is a pop funk track that delves into the mystery of a relationship where no one knows who is fooling who.

Deeper in the album, a variety of songs tell stories in different genres of the rock and roll realm. Feel Alive brings it back to ‘70s classic rock in the spirit of Traffic and Peter Frampton. Forgive has an ‘80s pop rock flavor. Dream Sequence has a feel similar to The Who but with a more modern vocal melody. The album finale, I’m Done Sleeping, begins with an instrumental piece that is a mix between Groove Armada’s rhythm blended with Neil Young’s Dead Man Soundtrack and ends with a powerful Rock Gospel vocal arrangement leaving us with the lyric “I’m done sleeping ‘till the day I die”.

The album title Return To The Roses was chosen because it was the first song that was realized by the band. The blend of instrumental energy with vocal harmony made it clear that there was something special happening with this collective of musicians. This all happened in the summer of 2020, outdoors…6 feet apart. It was, and still is a challenging time. Marble Eyes grabbed the pandemic bull by the horns and continues to ride it strong into a brand new realm of creative inspiration.

The album release is paired with a live tour across the Northeast and Mid Atlantic States. October is highlighted by official record release parties on October 21st in Seacoast NH at Stone Church Music Club Outdoor Stage and on October 27th in Brooklyn NY at Brooklyn Bowl.
