'He's special': Colts DE Dayo Odeyingbo flashing potential in return from Achilles injury

INDIANAPOLIS -- Coming out of Vanderbilt, Indianapolis Colts rookie defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo drew comparisons to Washington Football Team 2019 first-round pick Montez Sweat and Arizona Cardinals two-time All-Pro pass rusher Chandler Jones.

Odeyingbo's college tape showed a versatile player consistently making plays at every spot on the defensive line against talented SEC teams while playing for a Commodores team that lost every game during his final year on campus.

With his long 6-6 frame, twitchy 276-pound body and cerebral approach to the game, it's easy to project Odeyingbo as the next great Colts pass rusher. But Colts general manager Chris Ballard drafted Odeyingbo 54th overall knowing the Irving, Texas native was going to be a long-term project.
